February Trip to Florida

We spent 3 days with Kathie Scannell and Steve Moore at their Gulfport FL home, after which we all took a 5-day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas to Nassau from Port Canavarel. After the cruise, Bob and I rented a car and drove to Naples where we spent a couple days with Dave and Kathy Roberts. We all toured University Park Country Club's grounds and available real estate. UPCC is 15 minutes from downtown Sarasota. We spoke, but unfortunately did not get to visit, with Darwin and Sue Perry who live there.

Zander's 3rd Birthday

Robert Alexander "Zander" Hale turned 3 years old on February 3, 2010. We celebrated at a bowling party with lunch, drinks and cake! Z-man's favorite gift was Rock'em Sock'em Robots. Zander is into super-heroes, trains, transformers, and play using his imagination.

Ceci's Christening

Cecilia Ann Grace Hale was christened at Baker Methodist Church in St. Charles IL on January 31, 2010. Godparents were friend Phil and sister-in-law Kitty.

Christmas 2010

We spent Christmas and New Years at our N. Myrtle Beach condo and attended the regional bridge tournament at the Marriott Ocean Dunes the entire week.

Thanksgiving Cruise

We spent Thanksgiving cruising to the Eastern Caribbean for 10 days visiting St. Thomas, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Barbados and Antigua. Our cruise mates were Dave and Kathy Roberts. Our ship was the Ruby Princess and we sailed out of Fort Lauderdale FL. By sheer coincidence, Ken and Pat Koza (fraternity brother) were on the same cruise!

August 27, 2009

A special day today ... Claudia's 60th birthday. We celebrated in at Rob's house in St. Charles, IL with a special SURPRISE appearance by Susan who flew in from LA. It was very emotional having the entire family together again and meeting Ceci for the first time. Another celebration was held the next night on the 28th at the home of Dave and Janet Christein. Dave's birthday was earlier in the month. Dave and Sue Lushin drove in from Kalamazoo; Sue's birthday is the 28th. Dave and Kathy Roberts were in town from Cincinnati, and Bill and Pat Albu came with their grandson Marlon.

July and August, 2009

WOW! Just checked the blog and found it's been six weeks since I've made an entry. That tells you just how busy we've been.

The biggest news is the arrival of our second grandchild ... Cecilia Anne Grace Hale, born July 28, 2009, 8 lbs. 13 oz., 19 inches long. You can see what a beautiful baby she is. We are anxious to meet her and see Zander, Rob and Mandy soon.

The past 10 days were spent at our condo in North Myrtle Beach's Tidewater Golf and Plantation. The days were hot and steamy, making the pool and ocean waters that much more enjoyable. We are thinking about moving to Tidewater permanently so, in preparation, we have filled out the paperwork to list the condo. But, coming back home to Greensboro gives me second thoughts.
